The strike was triggered by the tragic incident of a junior doctor's death due to violence in the workplace. The medical community had been demanding better protection, including more stringent security measures in hospitals. Following negotiations, the state government pledged to increase security personnel, introduce stricter laws for violence against healthcare workers, and provide counseling services. This victory was seen as a major step towards improving working conditions for medical staff in the state. It also prompted discussions nationwide regarding the protection of frontline healthcare workers, particularly in metropolitan cities where incidents of violence against doctors have been on the rise.
