BMC to appoint traffic consultants for handling increasing vehicular density in Mumbai.

For the first time, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is set to create a board of empanelled traffic consultants, which will chalk out measures for handling the increasing vehicular density and also carrying out periodic traffic surveys in the city. The board of traffic consultants will be an extension of the traffic department.

As of now, the civic body has an empanelled body of engineers for carrying out the structural audit of dilapidated buildings.

The BMC has floated an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the appointment of traffic consultants. According to the documents, the period of appointment is going to be for five years.
